2018 Fall Banquet

Fall Banquet Concludes This Year's Events
Our 2018 CVIDS Fall Banquet was held on November 10th, 2018, at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville. Banquet Chairpersons Nancy Rash, Lyle Moen, and Sherry & Lynn Moffit had an informative and fun day planned for us. It began at 11 AM with the Social Hour, voting on the Betty Miller Photo Contest entries, signing up for door prizes, and purchasing raffle tickets. Then at noon attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch culminating in chocolate mousse. Lunch was followed by a splendid presentation by Bob Selman (Blue Ridge Mountain Daylilies, Alexander, NC), who emphasized among other things the central role played by dormant daylilies in his hybridization program.

At 2 PM, Keith called the Business Meeting to order. Meeting minutes can be accessed here. Nancy Rash was elected as President (two-year term) and Shelly Lett as Treasurer (two-year term). Keith called for a vote of thanks for outgoing Treasurer Sue Kramer. Jonathan Poulton received a round of applause for serving as club webmaster since 2008.

The afternoon concluded with a plant auction, plant raffle, a presentation of a Thank You gift to Keith for his excellent tenure as club president, and the announcement of winners of the Betty Miller Photo Contest winners and door prizes. What a great event! At the risk of omitting somebody, I'd like on behalf of all banquet attendees to thank those who contributed time and effort to make this year's banquet such a memorable success: Nancy Rash, Lyle Moen, Sherry & Lynn Moffit, Sally & Keith Riewerts, Sylvia Bauguess (please note name change!), Joyce Parsons, Karmin Mullins, Kathy Ockenfels, Jill Gardner, Sue & Dave Kramer, Susie Poulton, Barbara McCreight, Ginger Preuss, Heather Harroun, Luella & Jo Lynn Johnson, and Gary Oster.
